Baden-Baden

We picked up our hire car and drove to Baden-Baden where we were staying at the Dorint.

Le Bistro

There was a Christmas market opposite the hotel so we had a wonder around and stopped at Le Bistro for lunch. Tammay ordered the fondue. We then explored the rest of the town.

In the evening we retired to our room and watched The West Wing. Checking into the hotel had proved a bit of a faf so we were quite happy when the hotel comped our room-service evening meal.

Rastatt

Sunday 30. We had breakfast at Colle's Eiscafé Capri and then drove to Rastatt. We decided not to go into the Palace but instead drove on to Heidelberg.

We had lunch at Restaurant Burgfreiheit, just outside the entrance to the castle.

Baden-Baden

That evening we had another wonder around the Christmas market in Baden-Baden and had corn on the cob from one of the stalls. We finished the evening with a few more episodes of The West Wing.

The wedding of Anabelle and David

Monday 31. Another breakfast at Colle's Eiscafé Capri and after checking out we made our way to Stuttgart where we were staying at the Radisson Park Inn. During the afternoon we walked around Stuttgart. We spent the evening with Anabelle and David at Anabelle's parents home, celebrating their marriage. Their balcony also gave us an amazing view of the new year's eve fireworks over Stuttgart.

Tuesday 1 January 2013 We joined Anabella, David and their family for a buffet lunch at a restaurant in Stuttgart. We flew back to the UK later that day.
